Monthly Workshop – Harm Reduction

Monthly Workshop – Harm Reduction
If someone uses substances or engages in self-harm, sometimes abstinence is too much to ask of them based on where they are in their own recovery. In that case, we want to do what we can to help keep them safe and minimize the risk of harm.
We will be joined by guests with harm reduction expertise:
Corri Mercy, Manager, Drug User Health at NASTAD — NASTAD produces resources and provides technical assistance to members and community-based harm reduction programs. Learn more at NASTAD’s website: https://nastad.org/teams/drug-user-health
Jessie Blanchard from Never Use Alone — Never Use Alone is a national hotline for people who are using substances and want someone to be with them. They talk to the person to make sure they’re ok, and if the person stops responding, they send emergency rescue. Learn more at Never Use Alone’s website: https://neverusealone.com/
These are some ways to reduce harm. What are others you know about? Join us to talk about it!
This is an open group. No registration required.
