Appreciation Spotlight: Jolene Switzer

My name is Jolene and I have been a Peer Recovery Coach at Pathways Behavioral Services for a little over a year. I started working in this field because when I was struggling I could have used someone like me. Someone who understood the road I was on, someone to have honest conversations with, someone in my corner, someone as a living example that anything is possible. What I’ve learned working in the field is that there is no “right” way to be in recovery and that’s it’s an ongoing process of personal growth. It’s about meeting people where they are at, with acceptance, and being patient with the process.
One of Jolene’s coworkers nominated her, saying “As a Peer Recovery Coach, Jolene is an absolute treasure! Her dedication to her Peers, her team and the agency she works for is unmatched. She is organized, resourceful, empathetic and makes sure to well educate herself in order to be a wealth of knowledge for everyone and anyone. She collaborates with providers and other community agencies and is one strong advocate! Our agency and our clients are lucky to have her.”
Iowa Peer Network would like to thank Jolene for everything she does!
